Climbers who have enjoyed trekking the Boardwalk, have said that despite the challenges that came their way, it was worth taking the risk. The Boardwalk is maintained but that barely means you won’t land up in ankle-deep mud. En-route you will find coal generated stoves and “gas-heated huts”. They feature composting toilets.

Lake St. Clair

In general a walk tends to last for around six days at a stretch. To make it even more memorable you can catch up a boat that might show up at the Narcissus Hut positioned right across the Lake St. Clair. The tour may extend up to 10 days if you want to take up the side-walks. Since this is supposed to be an intensive tour, you are required to carry along enough food and fluids given the fact that the duration may vary. The extra supplies may come to your rescue when you are trekking the Overland track. Moreover, it is advisable of you to consider the weather conditions of the region which mostly stays erratic.

The practicalities

Every year there are around 8 thousand enthusiasts visiting the trekkers point? The place attracts attention of people mainly during the span, November-April. The track remains crowded especially during Christmas. Experts are of the opinion that this place is best explored during months, February and March. This is because the weather generally stays stabilized during the time span. Walkers are asked to pay a fee of around $200 per individual in order to enter the National park here.
