Pin Valley National Park in Manali

In the north part of India, Rohtang Pass is a place where you can see the most wonderful scenery of landscapes variances. The lush greenery of the valley, awesome view of bare, brown mountains, hanging glaciers and snowfields amaze travelers. Location of Pin Valley National Park

Pin Valley National Park is situated in Lahaul & Spiti region of Himachal Pradesh. The area is a cold desert, which is connected to the Great Himalayan National Park in the south-west and Rupi Bhabha nature park in the south.

Best time to visit Pin Valley National Park

Weather is normally cold and dry as the area has always been a cold desert. It gets heavy snowfall in winter, the rainfall being normal. Best time to travel the park is from May to October.

Places around Pin Valley National Park

Dhankar Gompa (monastery) was established 1000 years ago and has seen a number of historical things. It is situated at a height of 3870 m and is 23 kilometer from Tabo. A plenty of herbs developing in this region are popular for treating lung and heart diseases.

Tabo Gompa – Positioned at a height of 3050 m, Tabo Gompa (monastery) is the biggest monastery composite of Buddhist religion. There are 9 temples in the compound all referring from 10th to the 16th century. Its statues, stucco pictures and wall paintings are same to the Ajanta-Ellora images. It has a meeting hall, which is bordered by 33 raised Bodhisattva sculptures.

How to Reach Pin Valley National Park

There are two accessible paths to Pin Valley National Park; the first one is Manali – Rohtang Pass – Kunzum La. It is accessible from July to October. The second one is Shimla – Tapri – Kaza that is open in March to December. It is the best time to visit the park.

How to reach the Park

By Air: The airport that is located close to the park is at Bhuntar in Kullu region. Private operators run flights to Delhi from here; though it would be wise to verify flight schedules etc. in advance.

By Rail: Shimla is situated at a distance of approx 443 kilometer is the closest rail station.

The park is surrounded by the green environment and gives you a soothing experience to enjoy.
