Rekindling Romance in Northumberland

Romance is a beautiful thing, isn't it? The first flush of love and the thrill of romance is one of those unforgettable feelings that stays with us forever, even if the spark must naturally give way to a more stabilised relationship after a while.

But then, who says that romance has to go away? While we never stay in the hearts and flowers phase, we're often looking for ways to rekindle those old passions and relive those early days. One of the classic ways that we reconnect with each other is by going away together, whether it be a holiday to a place where you both share fond memories or somewhere new to explore together.

Sometimes a mini-break is all that you need to stoke the flames of romance, and the UK has some of the most romantic locations around. While people praise the romance of Paris and Italy and other places in Europe, there are plenty of treasures to be found in your own back yard; all you need is to go exploring and see what some of these treasures are.

Northumberland, for example, is one of the most naturally beautiful and stunning areas that the United Kingdom has to offer, making it an ideal location for couples of all kinds. Whether you're a new couple going away together for the first time or you've been married for years and want a place where you can unwind and remember why you fell in love in the first place, Northumberland has everything that you could possible want.

Various parts of Northumberland have been designated Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty, including its vast expanse of countryside and the stunning 30 mile coastline, which is home to the Lindisfarne islands, the grey seals and plenty of historical intrigue. It's the ideal place for two people to be alone together, with opportunities for long walks and intimate evenings in solitude amongst the wild heather and the rest of the incredible flora and fauna on display.

If you're thinking about booking a romantic Northumberland retreat, then you'll also need to get the best accommodation possible. After all, the locations only makes up so much of the whole experience; for a truly romantic atmosphere, a great place to stay is a must. After all, you want the place where you spend your evening's together to be as romantic as your surroundings so you can really lose yourselves in each other and forget the world around you.

Cheviot Holiday Cottages offers a range of romantic cottages for couples in the Northumberland area, all of which would be an ideal place to get away from it all. The Retreat, which you can look at on their website, is exclusively for two people only and is the perfect luxury romantic getaway for any couple. A remodelled stable, the Retreat offers both seclusion and glamour thanks to its quiet location and incredible swim-spa pool and Jacuzzi. What better way to bring a bit of romance back into your lives than with a romantic holiday cottage that allows you to wash all your worries away?
