The weekend “staycation” has become increasingly more popular over the years. Sometimes it’s just too difficult to get too far away from home for all that long, and taking a quick road trip to a beautiful destination is a much more viable option. One of the best ways to feel like you’ve gotten away from the hustle and bustle of daily life is to rent a cottage for the weekend in Georgia. A cottage makes you feel like you’re on a special trip, even if you’re only half an hour away from home. Callaway Resort and Gardens offers several lodging options that will make your vacation memorable.
Cottages
One of Callaway’s finest features is the cottages located throughout the scenic campus. Cottages feature one or two bedrooms, one or two bathrooms, a living room, and a kitchen, giving you plenty of amenities and comfort, feeling like a home away from home. Unlike some other lodging arrangements at Callaway Resort and Gardens, the cottages each have a screened porch or a deck, so you and your guests or family can enjoy a warm, peaceful summer evening outdoors. Cottages are perfectly set up for families or larger parties and can make for a memorable getaway.
Villas
Similar to the cottages, Callaway’s villas are more remote and surrounded by the breathtaking forest scenery. Many villas have a large number of windows, which brightens up the living areas and provides excellent views. If your vacation party is on the larger side, a villa is an excellent choice. Villas have anywhere from one to four bedrooms, a living area, a kitchen, and plenty of space. Although the vibe is different from the quaint cottage atmosphere, the scenery is very similar, and you’ll still feel like you’re on a getaway, even if you’re from the Atlanta area.
The Lodge
If you’re looking to get away from home for a while but don’t necessarily want the cottage experience, the Lodge is a more traditional-style hotel arrangement. Although it seems more like a hotel, the Lodge is surrounded by the peaceful woodland setting, still making it feel like you’re in a more secluded area than the city or suburbs. The Lodge is within walking distance of several biking and hiking trails and has easy access to many of Callaway’s other notable features.
