Delhi, a place that is known all over India for its tourist places, street foods and high rise buildings has also got another side that drives tourists every year. Good quality clothes at cheap prices are available here. The variety and the design of the clothes sold in these markets can hardly be found in any shopping mall or designer outlet. It is truly a shopper's paradise where fashion meets contemporary style.

Shopping in Delhi is not only about clothes but it also includes buying handmade items, accessories as well as electronic gadgets. Though, the capital city is known for its ever expensive items but while out on shopping on the below mentioned market places you will never realize the fact that you are residing in one of the costliest cities of India.

Dilli Haat: Haat, the name itself gives us a feel of a village market where on any specific day of a week items are sold. Keeping this Indian tradition in mind, the Dilli Haat was being established. The roofs of the shops are covered with straws in order to create a village like ambience. You can get here Indian handicrafts as well as artifacts. The market is open throughout the week and even on Public holidays. Entry fees are only Rs 15.

Janpath and Tibetan Market: If you want to purchase garments at a cheap price then Janpath is the best place. Goods from India as well as Tibet are available here. It is mainly known for the various handicrafts, paintings and brassware. As far as the garments are concerned you can get here seasonal clothes here throughout the year. The market is open daily. Khan Market: If you are willing to shell out some extra bucks and want to purchase some branded items whether it is clothing, electronic speakers or Books then Khan Market is the ultimate place to shop for. Ladies flock here in large numbers as it has got some wonderful tailors who are expert in making salwar suits or tops within a week. The close proximity of the market to India Gate is yet another important factor for the large number of persons. Except Sundays, the market is open throughout the week.

Chandni Chowk: The hundred year old market is one of the best shopping destinations of the Delhiites. Bazaars of Chandni Chowk are divided in to various segments. For instance: if you are searching for fabrics, then Katra Neel is a good option. For electronics the Bhagirath Palace area is the best place and if you are planning to purchase silver jewellery, then Dabira Kalan can be a good option. Never forget to taste the best street food of Delhi at the various eateries around the place.

Sarojini Nagar: You can hardly find any Delhiites who have not visited Sarojini Nagar Market. It is one of the most frequently visited shopping places in Delhi. Designer made clothes that have been rejected for exporting are usually sold here. One can get here such kind of stuffs in bulk quantities. The place is also well known for Babu Market, a famous sweet shop.

Lajpat Nagar: One of the oldest markets in India, the Lajpat Nagar Central Market is one such place where the middle class Indian shoppers throng every week. Indian Kurti Tops and Salwar suits are what the market is famous for. Another attraction of the market is the mehendiwalas, who apply mehendi on the hands at a lightning speed. Though the market remains closed on Monday but it is flocked by people in all other working days.
