The Spanish coast and Cabo de Gata
Spain is one of the most important tourist destinations on the European continent; millions and millions of tourists visit it every year, enjoying the huge range of its beauties. However, out of all its attractions, the coasts seem to be the most interesting for visitors. Perhaps they feel attracted by the beauty of the crystal clear waters or by the sandy beaches, perhaps they feel wonderful surrounded by picturesque views with lush vegetation and they love the welcoming inhabitants. Either way, one thing is certain: tourists from all the corners of the world love the Spanish coasts. If you drive along the eastern coast, the first and at the same time closest resort is the quite modest Cabo de Gata.
Even though Cabo de Gata is not as modern, popular and famous as other Spanish tourist destination, it still has a personal charm that mostly comes from the impressive expand of delicate sand. Cabo de Gata is easy to reach from Almeria, as five buses connect the two cities every day. Once there, you have to visit the Laguna de Rosa Lake, the one protected by a society that wants to save the lives of all the flamingos hosted by the lake. You can then relax in one of the numerous cafes and pubs; when it comes to accommodation, take into consideration the fact that it might be impossible to find, especially during the peak season.
Visiting San Jose
San Jose is also located along the sunny coast and it is a more popular resort than Cabo de Gata. Its advantages are probably represented by the picturesque, even breathtaking location, within a small cove. The shallow waters you will find in San Jose are great for those who travel with children, because they are less dangerous. The fine beaches are found within walking beaches, so I assure you that you have enough space for relaxation and for enjoying the sun. Accommodation can be a problem, especially in the summer; you should take into consideration the modern Bahia hostel or the Las Gaviotas Hotel, a more expensive but also comfortable option. For those who love camping, a campsite is at their disposal very close to the main beach. If you decide to visit the Spanish coast, do take into consideration visiting these two resorts: I am sure you will have a wonderful time.
