The Balearic Island And Their Festivals

Reaching a wonderful destination

Choosing a holiday destination is a very difficult thing to do and I am sure that Spain rang a bell at least once when you were planning a vacation. It is a beautiful country which deserves your attention – the type of country that attracts tourists with its beauties, but most of all, with its traditions. The famous festivals such as San Fermin or La Tomatina attract millions of tourists from all the corners of the world. While these festivals are hosted by the mainland, there are numerous colorful and lively ones hosted by the beautiful Balearic Islands. The islands are reachable by plane and once you get there, it is recommended you hire a car, because it offers you the freedom you need in order to explore their beauties.

When to visit the islands

I am sure tourists are aware of the fact that the islands enjoy a wonderful climate throughout the entire year, but a sunny day and a fine beach are not the only things you want to see in your holiday. Tourists usually want to be active and to have a lot of fun, so visit the islands during the holiday periods. The street festivals will impress you with all the dancing and the good music, the drinking, the food, the colors and the good mood that fills everyone.

For example, if you want to go to Mallorca, do it on the second weekend of the beautiful month of May. Locals celebrate the 1561 victory of the Spanish against the Turkish pirates who wanted to win the territory of the island. Ibiza is best to visit during a winter month like January. The 17th of January is when the famous Sant Antoni Portmany festival is celebrated. It is a spectacular event in which it would be a pity not to take part. Sant Antoni Abat is probably the most important Saint for the inhabitants of the Balearic Islands and these celebrations in his honor represent a very important event and both big and small processions are organized. The event is perfect for the entire family, because it has a little bit of everything: music, traditional dancing, delicious cuisine, lots of drinking and a lot of fun for the little ones. If you decide to visit one or all the Balearic ferienhaus in lloret de mar Islands, do it while one of the festivals is in full celebration, because it is a unique experience.
