The Cyber Monday & Black Friday Factor

What is Cyber Monday?

Cyber Monday is basically a marketing term which is used after the Thanksgiving holiday in the United States of America. The term Cyber Monday was created by companies to persuade people to shop online. It is interesting to know that this term Cyber Monday was coined by Ellen Davis and Scott Silverman. And as soon as it hit the market, it was a hit.

If we go by statistics then 77% of online retailers have said that their sales did increase on a very substantially concrete level. And in the year of 2015, Cyber Monday sales grew up to $ 2.98 billion which is a simply amazing fact.

However, Black Friday is simply an amazing when it comes to technology deals and if we go by statistics then 85% more data storage deals are offered in Black Friday sale.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday sales date back to the early 1950's as mainly the retail stores would kick off the Christmas shopping with big sales. Black Friday is the day which is followed by Thanksgiving Day and it is since 1952 it has been regarded as the beginning of the Christmas shopping season in the United States of America.

The Comparison

If we talk about Cyber Monday & Black Friday being the same thing or not then we can say that yes they are and no they aren't. The difference I that Black Friday was born as retail and Cyber Monday is online. Basically, what this means is the fact that in the beginning you'd hit stores on Friday and then log in to cyberspace on the day of Monday.

The Better Deal

Well, it depends on the fact that what you are looking for? Because there can be various factors which tend to have an effect on it like many shoppers will be only interested in shopping online. However, some people believe that one can get better deals on Cyber Monday and some are of the opinion that Black Friday has better deals as compared to Cyber Monday. However, the statistics tell a completely different story as in the year of 2016, CM sales were of about $3.45 billion, which was a new record and was a little ahead of BF's $3.34 billion.

What you should know about these days is the fact that you must not get caught up in the hype. These stores will give out the best of their deals to lure the customers making them experience a FOMO, aka fear of missing out.
