The Dubai Mall is the largest shopping mall in the world. So, that's the reason why you should visit it, if you are in need of any reason at all. It is huge, simply gargantuan and is big enough to house its 1,200 retail stores very easily. Talk of shopping, even the most shopaholic woman would tire out but the number of retail stores won't come to an end. Even if you have Ambani for a father-in-law, you won't be able to shop from all these stores in a single outing.
Talk of food, the mall has 160 outlets for food and drinks. Now, compare that with a handful which we have in our malls back in India.
Talk of entertainment, the Dubai Mall has this special attraction which is like a mini-ocean in its own right. Known as Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, its name is a giveaway! From eels to stingrays to sharks, this mall has all those sea organisms at this attraction which will take you through a 270-degree glass tunnel!
Phew, so I guess now you know why this mall is counted amongst the top places to visit in Dubai.
As for the parking facilities, the mall can accommodate 14,000 cars. Now, talk of that for numbers! Even Sachin Tendulkar would find it hard to match those numbers. In terms of footfalls, the mall receives close to 35 (or over) million visitors every year.
It also houses movie halls. So, if you are a movie buff, you have every right to step inside this heavenly place. There is this Ice Rink too which offers you a dose of winter (though it is not as popular as the Indoor Skiing Rink at the Mall of the Emirates).
The Dubai Mall is one of the most ingenious creations of man. In terms of engineering, it is impeccable. It will soon be celebrating its 5th birthday since the mall was opened on November, 2008.
Most of the Dubai tour packages from India include this mall in the itinerary. Just like Burj Khalifa, the Dubai Mall is an attraction you simply cannot miss out.
In case you are not much of a shopper or in case you detest malls, you should still pay a visit to this place. If not for shopping or eating, then simply because of the grandeur, the opulence and the dimension of this place!
Like all the malls in Dubai, this one too requires you to dress appropriately. So, do not wear any sleeveless tops or anything too skimpy, unless you want to be kicked out!
