The Pushkar Fair – A Fair With Flashes Of Light In India

The Pushkar Fair also called the Pushkar Camel Fair or local people call it as Karthik Mela. It is the most popular Fair held in the small city of Pushkar in Rajasthan the Cultural State of Rajasthan in India. The world famous Pushkar Fair is full of Flahes of Light which attracts many tourists to this place, which lies in the Ajmer district of Rajasthan. The Cultural Rajasthan Tour to Pushkar reflects life full of energy and different colours of Rajasthan. Pushkar Mela is a witness to the beauty of golden sand, spectacle and carnival of one of the great traditions going through many years. The city is located at the edge of Thar Desert. Every year this Pushkar fair is being organised at this magical land of Rajasthan for two reasons:

  1. One of the main reason is to attract local camel and cattle traders to this place for trading practices during the Holy Kartik Purnima festival, around the full moon in the Hindu lunar month of Kartika.
  2. The other reason is for religious purpose – people from faraway places come for Pilgrimage to take a dip in the holy water of the Pushkar Lake and pray to Lord Brahma. It is said that those who bathe during full moon they receive special blessings from the Gods.

This place leads to a mesmerising experience for all the travellers coming to give a visit from different parts of the world.

Time and place where it takes place: – Pushkar Fair is held over a period of 5 days in the town of Pushkar, begins in the Month of Kartik and ends on the Kartik Purnima Day. During these five days you will find very interesting activities going on in the City. You will find the city looking very graceful and colourful during the period.

Highlights of the Tour: – The biggest highlight of the Tour is the local people around here display 30,000 shaved camels decorated with innumerable decorative glittering ornaments. You will find it amazing to know in the carnival there is a beauty contest organised for the camels and the best decorated camel wins the show.
