It could be surprising, but even more annoying that the hotels which assert to offer the most comfortable stays contain bedbugs in the beds. And chances are that they already existed since long, having not been brought to the hotel’s notice by the previous customers.

So to ensure that you do not bring bedbugs as a gift from the hotel, here is what you need to do:

  • When you enter the hotel room, take your luggage and place it in the bathroom. This is the place where they do not normally occur.
  • Use your flashlight and inspect the bedsheet carefully. Flip the pillows, bedsheet, and mattress and inspect the bed very carefully.
  • Look for the signs of adults, dead bedbugs, nymph or even eggs.

If you do not find any signs, the place is considerable to stay.

  • Call the hotel attendants and inform them immediately.
  • Ask the front-desk managers to change your room, possibly to some other part of the building that is far from the previous one.
  • Stay away from the bed. The insects could crawl into your clothes.
  • Take pictures of the insects and leave a review about the hotel on their website or other online sources. This would help other customers to beware of the conditions.
  • If you can get a room quickly, ensure to check it too. If you want, you can ask for your money back.

Also, do not forget to check the online review about a particular hotel you are booking.
