The Wonders of Barcelona

What strikes you about Barcelona?

The first thing that pops in front of your eyes is the fact that Barcelona is completely different from the rest of Spain. The Moorish influence is not as powerful here as it is in the other cities, so you could say that Barcelona is the most European city in Spain. Its location, somewhere between the sea and the hills, offers the tourist views of some breathtaking landscapes which make you think that Barcelona is in the middle of what looks like heaven on earth. Be assured that once you take your first steps on the streets of Barcelona, you will fall in love with it.

The attractions of the city

The old Barri Gotic quarter, the Chinese Quarter and the fact that Barcelona hosted the Olympic Games in 1992 are not the only reasons to visit the city. Today the architectural wonders of the great Antoni Gaudi represent the main points of interest of the city. Who hasn't heard about La Sagrada Familia? The Cathedral, even though it is not finished, is an exquisite example of Gaudi's architectural genius. Then there is the Park Guell, a place where tourists go in order to escape the hustle and bustle of the city's center. The Park is a very lush garden where the imagination of the architects seems to have exceeded any limits. Don't forget Las Ramblas, the most famous avenue in Barcelona, while the Monjuic Castle is a very important sightseeing destination because of the spectacular views it offers.

A practical guide

You can visit Barcelona any month of the year, but it is highly recommended that you spend a few days there during one of its festivals; September and April are the best months for this. When you visit Barcelona, be sure to try the Catalan cuisine, which will take you to gustatory peaks you've never experienced. The special feature of the food in Barcelona is that it is actually a combination of Arab, Roman and even Mediterranean elements. The salads are absolutely delicious, as are the cooked sausages and the poultry dishes. Try them, you won't regret it! If you wonder what type of climate awaits you in Barcelona, don't worry. The summers are very pleasant and warm, while the winters are mild. This means that you can go on holiday in Barcelona location villa lloret anytime you wish. Enjoy this wonderful city!
