Things to Do in Paris of India

Everything in Jaipur seems so rooted to the past yet appears to be so contemporary, that today it is the most alluring destination in India for travellers from within and outside the country. Some major attractions are listed in this section. Read ahead.
Hawa Mahal
Hawa Mahal was built by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh for the royal women so that they could enjoy the hustle-bustle of the Johari Bazaar outside without having to step out. This architectural marvel has left millions of tourists gaping in awe. There is a lot of information about the structure of Hawa Mahal that is spellbinding, and lovers of art and architecture are going to love it. It is advisable to hire a guide for details. Get ready for some hair raising facts at this Palace of Winds. Literally, hair raising!

Jaipur Tourism

Sheesh Mahal
Located in the majestic Amber Fort, around 11 km from Jaipur, the Sheesh Mahal is another prodigious architectural wonder amongst others. This Palace of Mirrors is so adeptly built that even if a minute beam of light enters this complex, the whole place lights up by the mirrors reflecting lights. The infinite tiny mirrors fabricated on the walls of the Sheesh Mahal give it a jazzed up and opulent touch. Sigh!
Johari Bazaar
Got a wedding coming up anytime soon? Welcome to the paradise of everything chunky, traditional, and rajasthani! The Johari Bazaar has all the ingredients that make it the most visited shopping spots in the city. From pretty trinkets, to clattering bangles in a multitude of colors, and what not; this is the place for the shopaholics.
Jaipur Literature Festival
For those visiting in January and coincidentally are literature buffs, then viola! The Jaipur Literature Festival or JLF is a treat for such souls and is the largest free literary festival in the world. Held at the grounds of one of the finest hotels in Jaipur, the Diggi Palace every year, the JLF binds the whole city and gives it a carnival-like feel. Interesting reading, debates, workshops, and author interactions happen in the daytime, and in the evening one can sway to the music of the folk musicians and dancers.
Chokhi Dhani
Now for the sake of gastronomia, do not at all miss visiting Chokhi Dhaani that will spoil one to the core with authentic and lip smacking Rajasthani cuisine. Though there are many more eateries like this in Jaipur, but since this one screams of the Rajasthani vibe in a better way, it becomes a must-visit spot in Jaipur.
Elephant Polo
Polo was originated very much in Jaipur by the Royals but now the only difference is that the horses have been replaced by the mighty elephants, which, well speak a lot about the grandeur of the Rajputana glory. One can camp at the gorgeous polo grounds which is run by a local family, and has a luxurious feel and hospitality added to it. Sassy enough for a royal experience!
