Most towns in Costa Rica have some kind of weekly farmers markets which are an excellent place to explore the incredible range of vegetables and fruits that are cultivated in Costa Rica. It's expected that you'll encounter a variety of new fruits & vegetables as well. The Majority of the locals purchase their poultry, produce, beans, seafood, and dairy stuff from the farmer's market, as it is the most cost-effective way to shop. Some markets are superior to others, but it's an excellent way to explore local life & be a part of the scene. It is also an ideal place to practice your Spanish.
