Top 7 Places to Visit in Saint-petersburg

  1. Peter and Paul Fortress – is a town museum, which is the main one The Peter and Paul Cathedral – the burial place of Russian emperors. In the fortress are several museums that you can visit: prison Trubetskoy bastion, the commandant's house where there is the interesting display of mint. If you climb up to the Naryshkin bastion to see a place where every day at 12 o'clock fires a gun shot.
  2. Philharmonic of Shostakovich. Music lovers will certainly encourage them to visit the Philharmonic of Shostakovich. One of the reasons – wonderful acoustics and atmosphere for listening to the symphony concerts. Great Concert Hall of the Philharmonic holds 1,500 people, here are the most famous musical groups in the world.
  3. Cruiser “Aurora” is more than the museum, which was placed on the “eternal parking” at Bolshaya Nevka. First of all, this ship is a symbol of St. Petersburg, and, secondly, a small naval museum and interesting historical exhibits.
  4. Chamber of Curiosities – the first museum of St. Petersburg, founded by Peter the Great. The small museum contains all the rare items and things which began to gather the emperor. A unique collection of rarities attract attention, and various sections of the museum include a collection of different national cultures from North America to Oceania (Australia).
  5. Museum of railway equipment V.Chubarova – one of the few museums in the open air, which is located at the Warsaw station. It will be interesting to adults and children. Here are collected and are on these tracks locomotives domestic and foreign, that have ever operated on our roads. All the exhibits of the museum in the open air can touch, climb on some of the locomotives, inspect the interior of railway cars.
  6. The Hermitage Museum – third of the world's largest museums. The Hermitage could be proud of fenomenal collection of artworks from different periods: from Renaissance to Impressionists and modern arts.
  7. Palace Square – the central square of the Saint-Petersburg, a lot of sightseeings at the same place. Winter Palace (the part of Hermitage) and Alexandrian Column you can see just turning around. The square is also a culture center: many concerts, festivals and events are usually held there.
