Top Five Getaway Hill Stations Near Delhi For An Extraordinary Vacation

Delhi is the prime city of India and thousands of people from across the country arrive here everyday. Millions of people live here and go about their lives. There are many attractions, hubs of entertainment, cineplexes, shopping malls, historic sites, eateries, seven star hotels, etc. that you can keep exploring and yet the wish-list would seem never to end. The city is fast paced and you would see everybody busy about something, occupied about their matters of affairs. Hence, every once in a while it makes sense to take a break from all the monotony and go out on outstation trips with family and friends. There are so many hill stations near Delhi that it would take you a couple of days to figure out the best places to visit around here. There are many people who visit Delhi and spend some time here over their long vacation. They too need to get out of the urban setting and relax in the proximity of natural surroundings, woods, and hills.

Here are some of the top choices that include both popular and less-known places near Delhi:
Lansdowne – This cantonment town in the state of Uttarakhand is situated at a height of about 1700 meters. Surrounded by Oaks and Pines, the place offers a beautiful setting. You can indulge in a variety of adventures and activities here which range from sightseeing, paddling, trekking, bird watching, boating, etc. The annual Sharadotsav or the Winter Festival held during the autumns is worth visiting. It is about 260 km from Delhi.
Mussoorie – This beautiful hill town of Uttarakhand is often called the Queen of the Hills. Perched at a height of about 1900 meters, it is a place to fall in love with. Winds wrapped in mist and tall deodars all around the landscapes make the place seem so blissful that you would not feel like coming back from this nature's own court, after all. You can explore the town, the areas around, some waterfalls, and yet feel like coming back to this place time and again. Mussoorie is about 280 km from Delhi.
Kasauli – This cantonment town in the Solan district of Himachal Pradesh is a tranquil, quiet, and serene place. It is bestowed with nature's blessings and makes for an ideal tourist destination from Delhi. The temperature never goes beyond 32 degree Celsius, even in summers. The town has many attractions and you would feel like talking long walks through this hill station. Kasauli is about 300 km from Delhi.

Chail – It is about 50 km from Shimla and if you wish to explore a nice place, Chail is the right choice. In contrast to Shimla, it offers a calmer surroundings and often called the hiker's paradise. You can also explore the Chail Sanctuary here. It is 350 km from Delhi.
Kausani – About 400 km from Delhi, Kausani is situated at a height of approx. 1900 meters in Uttarakhand. This place has a low population of just 300-350 people. But the scenic landscapes and the grand view of the Himalayas from here are simply breathtaking. Tea Gardens are a major tourist attraction around here.
Besides hill stations, you can also explore some beaches and islands, such as Diu. Diu is one of the beautiful places to see in India and you can take a Delhi to Diu flightto reach this fishing town.
