Tour The Grand Canyon In Winter

The Grand Canyon is easily considered one of the most beautiful and unique places on the face of the earth. As a result, there are many other people aside from yourself who are planning on visiting it this year. Especially leaving from places like Las Vegas, the Grand Canyon can actually become quite congested with tourists at different times of the year. This will have an effect on the amount of time that you will be able to spend taking pictures and hiking without crowds. While the crowds are not anything near the crowds in a city or at most tourist attractions, they can reduce the amount of good times that you have when you get there, if they are too large. This is why visiting the Grand Canyon in the winter makes so much sense, because the landscape does not change all that much from the warmer times, and the crowd sizes are reduced significantly.

The Grand Canyon can get cold in the winter time, as there is such an expanse of space that heat does not get trapped like in other areas. This will mean that there will be times when there is snow in the canyon, and times when it is just too cold to be very pleasant. There is a window from November until about January that will give you almost perfect temperatures, however, where you will still get to see the lush plant and animal life without it being covered in snow and you still will have reduced crowd sizes.

When you visit the Grand Canyon, make sure that you go to the national park section. There are several tour companies operating out of Las Vegas that market themselves as providing Grand Canyon tours, yet they are not actually providing tours to the areas you see in the magazines. Instead, these companies are providing tours to areas of the canyon that are controlled by indian tribes, and not the national park areas. The sections of the Grand Canyon that are federally protected are far more scenic, and will be the ones that provide what you are looking for. When you book your tour to the Grand Canyon, make sure you verify that the tour you are taking goes to the national park area.

Visiting the Grand Canyon on a tour in the winter is highly suggested, and numerous companies are available to provide these services out of the Las Vegas area.
