Ultimate Grand Canyon Helicopter Tours for the Thanksgiving Holiday

Thanksgiving is coming up, and that means it is time to get a little bit of relaxation, hang out with family, or even go on a sightseeing adventure. This time of the year is the perfect one to visit the Grand Canyon, and with air tours you can visit either the West Rim or the South Rim of the Canyon.

Don't Miss Out

With the cooler fall weather, it's a good time to visit the Canyon. There will be near perfect visibility with weather that is milder than the rest of the year. Taking that into consideration, remember that it's also going to be a busy time of year, so you will need to get in quick to book your tickets.

The easiest way to organize things, is to book your helicopter tickets as soon as you have confirmed your accommodation. If you leave things too late, you will end up paying the highest prices, or even worse, you might miss out on seats.

I also recommend that you book your tickets online, and pay using your credit card. This will confirm the transaction and you will know that your seats are reserved. Booking online also ensures that you will get the best price.

The West Rim

You will fly to the West Rim if you take Grand Canyon Helicopter from Las Vegas. This is a favorite of many people, because there is so much on offer at the West Rim. As you fly out, you will go over the Hoover Dam and the reservoir of Lake Mead. Once you get to the Canyon you will fly over the sights, and the great thing about the West Rim is that you can land.

Landing tours are extra special. You can land at the bottom of the Canyon, where you could enjoy a Champagne picnic and a Colorado River tour. If you land at the top, there's the Grand Canyon Skywalk. This expertly engineered platform is 4000ft above the Canyon, and with a glass floor it gives you a thrill that is equally as breathtaking as the helicopter ride itself.

If you can make it work with your budget, you can include landing at the top and the bottom, for the full West Rim experience.

The South Rim

The Grand Canyon is huge, and that means that there's plenty to see from Arizona, too. From the town of Tusayan, you can fly to the North Rim, the eastern boundary, and back to the South Rim. There are two tours, the shorter 30 minute tour goes to the North Rim only, whereas the longer 50 minute tour will take you to the eastern boundary as well. In that extra 20 minutes you will have the opportunity to see more of the National Park, totaling up to 75% of the total area. I recommend the longer tour because for a small increase in price, you will get the best South Rim Grand Canyon helicopter flight that is available.

Although you can't land inside the Canyon at the South Rim, you can take a ground tour on a 4×4 Jeep. This is a great experience that offers you a different perspective, and it will really round out your tour.

Conclusion

It's easy to see why air tours on Grand Canyon helicopters are some of the most popular in the United States. Fantastic sights, rich history, and plenty of options mean that you can select a tour to meet any budget. If you want to fly for Thanksgiving, don't forget to book early, and book online. With a little bit of planning you will be set up for a trip that you will remember for the rest of your lifetime, and you will ensure that you can experience it all for the best available price.
