Unforgettable Summer Vacations with Staying at Waikiki in June

Come over to Waikiki for a Hawaii vacation in June and enjoy lots of outdoors and extracurricular activities in Honolulu as so many exciting events and music concerts are taking place!

Visit Waikiki ArtFest!

The event features approximately 75-100 fine artists and handcraft artisans who display their own art for sale including jewelry of all types, clothing, wood products, stained glass, ceramics, soaps and candles, bags, quilts, and lauhala products. The events are scheduled from 9am – 4pm both Saturday and Sunday. ArtFest is located in Kapiolani Park at the Diamond Head end of Waikiki, across from the Honolulu Zoo. Admission is free. There will be live entertainment as well as great food available for the guests to enjoy. Come over and celebrate the Arts of Hawaii!

Enjoy Dinosaurs Unleashed Exhibition at Bishop Museum of Oahu!

Visitors will marvel at some of the fearsome giant reptiles of the Mesozoic. They will learn about the Maiasaura – “caring mother lizard” – with her baby and a nest of eggs. Of course, the ever-popular “tyrant lizard,” Tyrannosaurus rex, will thrill children of all ages. Interactive stations and activities will highlight how these animals flourished in their respective environments. Hands-on learners and aspiring paleontologists will have the opportunity to test their mettle in a dinosaur dig, create colorful bone imprints, and control a robotic dinosaur skeleton, just like those featured in the exhibit! The museum will be open Wednesday to Monday, 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Participate in the Oahu Pan Pacific Hawaiian Tennis Festival!

“The Pan-Pacific Festival is a huge cultural celebration that brings thousands of performers and travelers from around the world to Hawaii, and we are pleased to take part in the festival through this tennis tournament.” Tennis matches will consist of a men and women's division for ages 45 and over. Participants will have the chance to compete in singles matches and may also have the opportunity to play doubles matches with players from Japan. The Pan-Pacific Hawaiian Tennis Festival tournament will commence at 3 p.m. on Friday, June 19. The first 20 applicants to sign up for the Pan-Pacific Festival Hawaiian Tennis Tournament will receive a Pan-Pacific Festival T-shirt. Along with the tennis tournament, there will be lots of fun activities, parades, dances, bands and so much more. So if you have a chance to visit, take it – it surely will be a fun time.

Enjoy Obon Dance & Festival!

Experience this island celebration of the Obon Festival, brought to Hawaii by Japanese immigrants, that have evolved into a social and cultural event. The Obon honors ancestors that have passed on with dances and festivals across the island that are held throughout the summer.6:30 to 10:30 p.m. June 26-27, 1727 Pali Highway; taiko performances at 6 p.m. and services at 6:15 p.m.

Attend The “Feast Of Fools: The Triptych Paintings Of Masami Teraoka” Exhibition!

Get to view highly-finished watercolors combining Japanese ukiyo-e style and contemporary imagery that highlighted the clash between Asian and Western culture. Special features of the exhibition will be – a conversation between exhibition curator James Jensen and Masami Teraoka and the special music and dance performance by geisha Momotaro from the Nakanoya Teahouse in Kanazawa, Japan. Exhibition will be open from May 30 – August 30, 2015.

More Performance!

Enjoy timeless Hawaiian classics accompanied by the lovely Hula 'Auana styling of Malu, an award-winning entertainment production from Honolulu. This evening's Pau Hana Jam will showcase Hula performances of the Kalakaua period, island standards and the Hollywood era. Visit the Royal Hawaiian Centre on June 23rd.

Foster Botanical Garden presents their “Twilight Summer Concert Series” held from 4:30 p.m. to 7 pm on June 25 featuring the music of the Royal Hawaiian Band Glee Club. Free Admission!
