Uzbekistan Visa

To visit the Republic of Uzbekistan or to transit it foreign nationals must obtain a visa. Visa-free Uzbekistan travel is valid only for residents of the CIS countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Ukraine) for a period of 60 days.

Visa type may vary according to the Uzbekistan trip purpose: travel, diplomatic, business, jobs and transit.

Visa process consists of two steps: obtaining it support (resolution of MFA of the Republic of Uzbekistan) and getting a it at the Embassy or Consulate of the Republic of Uzbekistan. If there is no consular representation of Uzbekistan, the citizens of these countries can get a visa at the Tashkent airport. For this purpose it is required to hold copies of tickets and passports. Visa support, in this case, is considered by the Foreign Ministry within 7 working days from the date of dispatch of documents, and after that a written permission is issued. The travel agency sends touristic permission by fax, it must be presented at passport control and on its basis the visa is issued.

For citizens of certain countries there is a simplified procedure for obtaining a touristic visa, among them are: Austria, Belgium, Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, Latvia, Malaysia, France, Czech Republic, Switzerland and Japan. To do this you should refer to the consular offices of Uzbekistan, which take an independent decision on the visa application within two working days.

After getting a support you must complete an application for a touristic Uzbekistan visa. The form should be filled in Uzbek, Russian or English. If the form is not filled completely, or the information contained in it is not true, the Foreign Ministry of Uzbekistan has the right to refuse the visa application. Together with the application form there must be submitted original passport, copy of passport and a color photo. Also you must pay the application fee which varies according to your nationality and duration of stay on the territory of Uzbekistan, it is necessary to specify the exact cost at the moment of the visa application process.

Standard Term of Uzbekistan visa registration is 7 working days, for an urgent issue in 3 working days the fee is increased by 50%. For minors under age of 16 years the fee will not be charged.
