Visit Iskcon Temple in Delhi For a Pleasant Holiday Trip

Delhi cannot be ignored by a theist. Hindu, Muslim, Christian or Sikh, people of all religion dwell in this capital city. Religious monuments of every caste and sect can be found here. Temples in large numbers are found and people arrive here every month from all parts of India to offer prayers to their respective Gods.

The temple was constructed in the year 1998 by A.C. Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada, so that people could worship Radha Parthasarathi that is Lord Krishna and Radharani. Located in the East of Kailash, the temple is filled with devotees every time from all around India and even outside India. From the moment you make an entry in the temple you can hear chants of “Hare Krishna, Hare Rama” recited by the priests as well the disciples of Lord Krishna.

Apart from the spiritual side, the temple engages itself in numerous activities that mostly include serving the people. Few of the programs that it fully engages itself are Food for Life, various youth training programs, seminars and the Vedic wisdom literature. You can find a brief detail of all the programs in the below mentioned paragraph.

Food for Life: It is an initiative that is taken in order to fight the hunger problem by contributing its bit. Meals are served to the disadvantaged, street children or the poor who do not get sufficient food to eat. Till date, the temple has served millions of people all over the world. It has even provided aid to many countries when needed. Few examples are serving food to all the victims who suffered during the earthquake in Pakistan, Tsunami in Southeast Asia and the victims of the Orissa earth quake. Every evening food is served to all people for free.

Youth Training Programs: The main purpose of organizing the various youth training programs is to teach the youths of the country the importance of self purification, inculcate the habit of spiritual practices. There are various stages of these programs with the help of which one can improve himself or herself and improve the quality of life.

Corporate Seminars: V-SERVE is a corporate training program that is organized by the temple in order to teach the corporate professionals how to lead a well balanced life. The training program focuses on various points such as team bonding, customer loyalty, role clarity and employee engagement. Many well known business professionals attend this training program and have been benefited from them.

The best time to visit the temple is during the month of August when Janamasthami that is the birthday celebration of Lord Krishna is done with full enthusiasm. The temple is illuminated with lights and devotes from all over the world arrive here to have a sight of Lord Shri Krishna.
