What Guests Want from a Vacation Rental in London?

London is one of the top cities in the world to visit, attracting millions of visitors per year. Many visitors to London are now choosing to stay in a vacation rental, rather than booking a hotel. But what is that guests look for when they decide to book a rental property?

Location is one of the main factors that guests look at before they book a vacation rental in London. Often guests want to explore a new area of London and stay slightly away from the main tourist traps. Many guests like to experience a city, rather than just see it, so having a local scene can really appeal. Different areas will appeal to different people, for example Hoxton will appeal to younger people wanting a trendy nightlife and Marylebone will appeal to people wanting a quieter time and perhaps lots of shopping. When you advertise your property, make sure that you really sell the area that it is located in and give potential guests a full picture of what there is to enjoy right on the doorstep.

That being said, easy access to the centre of London is very important for most tourists. Good transport links are a real bonus for a vacation rental property in London. It is a good idea to leave guests clear instructions on how to get to and from the centre and to state how long the journey will take when advertising your property. Most new visitors to the city will want to explore the central attractions and landmarks.

When it comes to the style of your property there is no right or wrong. Individual touches will grab guests attention so don't be afraid to add your own personal touches. Remember that most vacation rental guests choose this type of accommodation in order to have a unique experience. Interesting decor will really stand out when you advertise your property as well, even if it is just a splash of colour. Whether you want your property to be a slick city pad, or an eclectic home, as long as it is clean and well maintained you will find guests who will love it.

Most importantly ensure that whoever stays in your vacation rental is going to have a good time. Keep well stocked up on all the essentials and add a couple of extras such as a chilled bottle of wine in the fridge. Give your guests all the information that they need along with details of good local restaurants and pubs and any other 'insider' information that they may enjoy. That way your guests will really enjoy their stay and you will get the good reviews and more bookings.
