Mera Peak is known to be the highest trekking peak in the Himalayas. With the prominence of 1,061 meters, Mera peak climbing is a straightforward climbing which makes it difficult for just any climbers to reach the summit. For experienced climbers, this expedition proves to be the best choice as it unfolds challenges along the path. It is compulsory for climbers to possess climbing skills prior to escalating this mountain. Those who have not yet learn can join training course where they teach you various climbing skills including rope fixing and techniques required while ascending and descending. Consulting a veteran guide or a reliable travel and tour agency will save you time, money and even your life. Doing so will increase your chance of successfully reaching the apex of Mera Peak.

Your Mera peak climbing itinerary must be cleverly designed so that it guides you through safe and long trails with slow ascends to ensure proper acclimatization throughout. Lukla is where it starts and it is where you join your team members. Trek begins from Lukla passing uphill through the remote valley Hinku in Pongkongma and then Panch Pokhari. At the altitude of 5,800 meter, most trekkers set a high camp and the next day in the early morning starts the climb. Peak consists of three main summits: Mera North (6,476 m), Mera Cenrtal (6,461 m) and Mera South (6,065 m). If you approach by the northern route, it is a gradual ascend which is a big help as you need to be acclimatized more as you move skyward. The outstanding panoramic view of five majestic 8,000 m mountains: Mt.Everest (8848m), Cho-Oyu (8201m), Lhotse (8516m), Makalu (8463m), Kanchenjunga (8586m) from top of the mountain is indescribable. Chamlang at 7,319 m and Nuptse at 7,855 m are an additional pleasure to your eyes. Unlike while moving up, trekking down always seems faster. Take a shorter route via Zetra La to Lukla to complete your lifetime experience of Mera Peak climbing expedition. Success rate of this trek is 95%. Out of 50 trekkers, 45 trekkers are assumed to scale the mountain strongly.
