Where to Go For Your Spring Break Fraternity Trip

For those planning next year's fraternity trip, there's enough time to pick a place where brothers can blow off stress right before finals week. The beach is a preference for many, and so is Las Vegas. But did you know there are other fantastic locations for college spring break trips that you may not have thought about.

Nashville

If you're near Nashville, TN then make this 'music city' your destination. Nashville has something for everyone. There are plenty of walkable neighborhoods that you can explore in the hours leading up to the revelry. Broadway is where you'll find a strip of vibrantly lit honky tonk bars, the most famous of these is Tootsie's Orchid Lounge and Robert's Western World. Head to East Nashville to dance – there are plenty of places to do so.

No fraternity trip to Nashville is complete without a taste of sour ales at Hop Stop and some chicken or fish at Boltons – you don't have to end up with dinner at the Hard Rock Cafe if you don't want to. Also, check out the breweries around Gulch. You'll find many of them have card and board games that the brothers can enjoy.

New Orleans

NOLA is a natural choice for frats in the south. You'll find planning a trip to New Orleans is not easy at all, because there are so many options. At the same time, you can't go wrong taking the easy way out and setting up the itinerary to end at Bourbon Street. This is the street that never sleeps and here you can wander the night away with your drink in your hand and watch risque burlesques. Frenchmen Street is where you'll find Harrah's Casino and also some of the city's best bars. New Orleans is full of life, and there's also a lot of live music. You can never go wrong having your frat formal at NOLA.

Another fantastic thing to do at New Orleans is to take a cruise. Some of the best cruises for college students in the area are Caribbean cruises that take you to the island of Cozumel across the Gulf of Mexico and back in four nights. There will be plenty of things that you can do on board while you're sailing. Cruise liners usually offer onboard entertainment such as discos, shows, bars, comedy clubs and a lot more. You could play bingo or the offshore casinos that are such a big draw. There will be pools, sports courts, hot tubs and more to relax you.

These cruises usually stop for a while at ports of call in Mexico, such as Progreso, which is a charming, laid-back beach destination. Other similar beaches along the Gulf can make for a relaxing getaway for you, your frat brothers, and your dates.

Make the most of spring break by planning your fraternity formal destination in advance. This way, you won't have to scramble for room bookings in the last minute only to find that your hotel or cruise of choice is fully booked!
