Why is Bournemouth The Best Seaside Destination in The World?

Bournemouth comes at the top of the list when thinking about British seaside towns. There are many things to see and do in the area, and lots of attractions nearby in the county of Dorset. The town is packed with a wide range of shops and eating places. You can find a wide range of international cuisine here, including classic British dishes like fish and chips.

  • The town has one of the nicest stretches of beach in the UK, which stretches from the Sandbanks peninsula to the quiet town of Christchurch. In Bournemouth, you are also within driving range of much of the Jurassic coast, which stretches west down the Purbeck area. Here you can see stunning rock formations such as Durdle Door, and discover a lot of prehistoric history. There are many fossils in the area and you may be lucky enough to crack open a rock and discover one. A Bournemouth hotel trip advisor will happily arrange your trip along the coast.
  • If you are staying in a Bournemouth hotel near the town centre, you can find a huge range of shopping options. There are many popular brands to choose from, and shops selling everything
  • Bournemouth features a large area of gardens and parks that you can visit during your trip. There are many activities you can do here, including picnics, watching outdoor musical performances and even riding the Bournemouth Eye, a hot air balloon that gives you a spectacular view of the town.
  • You can also visit the nearby countryside, which is extremely picturesque and features a lot of British wildlife. All 6 species of native reptile in the UK can be found here, such as Adders, smooth snakes and slow worms. You can find a massive variety of bird species, and the nearby counties have one of the largest areas of heathland in the world, which is an extremely rare habitat.
  • If you're a fan of water sports, there is a large variety of sports to be enjoyed on the Dorset coast. To the west on the large peninsula of Portland is the Weymouth Sailing Academy, which was used in the London 2012 Olympics. On the beaches at Bournemouth you can take part in activities such as surfing, longboarding and even riding Jet Skis. There are also beach sports that can be enjoyed such as Beach Volleyball, and a coastal activity park near Boscombe Pier. Staying in a Bournemouth bed and breakfast near the beachmakes these activities even more accessible.
  • Bournemouth has one of the most important universities in the country, with many students from around the world attending. This has encouraged a thriving night life in the town, and you can find many bars and nightclubs in the area. You can also find cinemas and large entertainment venues such as the BIC and Pavilion Theatre. You can get around easily when you stay in a Bournemouth hotel near the train station.
