Tips for Single Women Travelling to Morocco
- Exploring the streets of Medina late nights when streets are empty should be avoided by women and when you're out at the Marrakesh market just take care of your purse by holding in front, since pick pockets are common there.
- There are many cases were women drinks are drugged and raped, so men are always eager to catch hold of women since their culture never has the practice of girlfriends. So be attentive and cautious about your behavior. Scream and shout out loud in case you're in problem; the people are friendly and will help you.
- When you're invited privately by men to their home, never accept, since it is considered as prostitution in their culture.
- Do not leak out your details of the place you stay to any new male friend or stranger as they may lead to problematic issues and virginity is a big concern in Muslim countries for both genders, getting into relationship with men will lead to big social problems and will be considered as prostitution. So be aware and get rid of men who hang behind you.
- Dress according to Muslim standards by covering up your body and be polite enough to other women travelers or origins.
