Spring is one of the most beautiful times of the year, when trees are filled with beautiful flowers to the extent that leaves are hardly visible. The myriad of colours covers all the rainbow colours. It is such a splendid time of the year when the snow melts, the chilly weather has turned to a warm and pleasant weather, and ultimately we can see sun rays touching the ground.
This is one of the favourite times of the year for me. I love the local beauty in spring, but I also love to visit different destinations during spring, to experience the unique beauty of each place. Spring holds so many different blooms and festivals during the particular time of the year and I love to explore different destinations to experiences the novel springtime of that particular place.
My personal top three destinations that I have been wanting to visit in spring are listed below. Please check and you are more than welcome to suggest your own top destinations for spring.
1. Holland
End of March till the beginning of May is the best time to visit Holland because you will get to see fully bloomed tulip gardens here. Holland is famous for its tulip gardens and it is a sight that you will not forget in this life. You can see tulip blooms in all sorts of colours here at this time, and it is a treat to the eyes. If you are planning to visit Holland at this time of year, do not forget to visit the Keukenhof Botanical Garden where you can find tulips of all colours and variants. An original Dutch windmill is also present in the garden. To see vasts fields of tulips nearby, at the entrance of the park you can rent bikes and ride between the fields.
2. Rose Valley, Bulgaria
Located in the southern parts of Balkan Mountains and the eastern part of the lower Sredna Gora chain to the south, Rose Valley is a must visit place. The Rose Valley spans around 1200 square miles of land and spans over the Karlovo and Kazanlak fields as well as a portion of the Nova Zagora Fields. Bulgaria is one of the largest producers of rose oil in the world. The rose starts blooming in March, but the best time to visit Rose Valley is in May when the picking season begins. By May the roses are in full bloom and the whole area is covered with the beautiful fragrance of roses. A rose festival is also held at the end of spring.
3. Cape Floral Kingdom, South Africa
This is a world heritage site and UNESCO has named it one of the world's richest biodiversity hotspots. The place is known to have the highest concentration of plant species in the world. The South American Rain Forest which is its nearest rival has only one-third of the number of species available here. A favourite spot for botanists all over the world. Late summer is the best time to visit this place. The Namaqua National Park has spectacular fields carpeted with wildflowers at this time of the year.
In my next write up, I will be discussing many more springtime destinations.
