The last hurrahs for summer are fast approaching for all you teachers, students and parents of students out there. You have lots of options for celebrating these last days of summer, so let's take a look at what's on the agenda in Hawaii for your Hawaii vacation.
Naturally, when most visitors think of beaches in Hawaii, they think of the famous Waikiki Beach. Come over to Waikiki this August! Celebration is in the air as well as so many exciting events and music concerts! August 16 – 33rd Annual Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival Waikiki Style
This year Hawaiian Slack Key Guitar Festival will feature 15 of the top artists in the slack key guitar genre for a 6 hour long concert. Noon – 6pm at Kapiolani Park Bandstand. Call 808-226-2697.
August 21-23 – Isle 9 Festival
Isle 9 Festival brings international people together in the open air with music and art, to celebrate Hawaiian culture and the nature surrounding them. In Kahuku. Visit https://www.i9festival.com for additional details.
August 21-23 – 21st Annual Made in Hawaii Festival
Every year Made in Hawaii Festival features nearly 400 exhibitors who showcase food products, books, gifts, apparel and jewelry, arts and crafts, produce and many more home-grown products. Admission cost is $5; children six years and younger are free. Located at Neal S. Blaisdell Center, 777 Ward Ave., Honolulu. Call 808-533-1292.
August 22 – Concert Series
3rd Annual Waimea Concert Series with Jerry Santos, Brother Noland, Hookena. Tickets at the gate $22 for Adults and $15 for Seniors (60+) and Children. 1pm – 3pm at Waimea Valley, 59-864 Kamehameha Hwy, Hale'iwa. Call 808-638-7766.

Waikiki Artfest August 22 & 23, 2015 features the work of approximately 75-100 fine artists and handcraft artisans who display their own work for sale. At Kapiolani Park 9am-4pm both days. Call 808-696-6717.

34th Annual Greek Festival includes old favorites including Greek specialties like Spanakopita (Spinach Pie), Gyro Sandwiches, Moussaka, Pastichio, Greek Chicken, Souvlaki (shish-ka-bob), Loukaniko (Greek Sausage) a variety of Greek Salads, Loukoumades (Greek Malasadas), ouzo sorbet, and an amazing assortment of Greek Pastries. August 22-30 Duke's OceanFest 2015
This annual event features a variety of ocean sports that were close to Duke Kahanamoku's heart: Longboard Surfing, Paddleboard Racing, Swimming, Tandem Surfing, Surf Polo, Beach Volleyball, and more! Duke's OceanFest is held each summer in Waikiki in honor of Hawaiian Duke Paoa Kahanamoku, who is remembered as the greatest waterman who ever lived, and Hawaii's ambassador of Aloha.
