Hyde Park is among the Royal Parks of London and is one of the largest in Central London. The park is divided into two sections by the Serpentine River and is located adjacent to Kensington Gardens. The Great Exhibition

The Great Exhibition, also known as the Crystal Palace Exhibition, was the temporary structure created at Hyde Park to conduct an international exhibition in the period between May 1 and October 11 1851. A total of 13,000 exhibitors from all over the world took part in the exhibition and showcased several products, including a Jacquard loom, an envelope machine, kitchen appliances, steel-making displays and a reaping machine. The exhibition witnessed the presence of several prominent faces, including Charles Darwin, Samuel Colt and members of the Orleanist Royal Family as well as many notable writers. The exhibition took place after the huge success of French Industrial Exposition of 1844.
