If you're like me and you frequently travel out of LAX than the following information can help you save money on LAX airport parking. The question is do you want to park directly at LAX or do you want to park at one of the many parking lots near LAX?

I've been a travel blogger for years and yes I know, its not a real job, I'm just a writer but recently I've actually been getting paid for what I do. People like to here what I have to say especially considering I actually know what I'm talking about. I did spend over 10 years working as a sales rep and traveling all over north America therefore I should have some knowledge.

LAX happens to be the airport I most frequent. It also happens to have some of the most expensive airport parking rates in the US. I recently decided to try some of the many offsite airport parking lots located between 5 to 15 minutes away from LAX and surprisingly, some weren't that bad. For the most part the shuttles were on time, attendants never lost or damaged my car and I did save about 50% off direct terminal parking.

Recently I noticed that I could save even more if I reserved online but not with the actaual parking lot, I used third party websites, kinda like Priceline, Hotwire or Expedia for airport parking. Using these sites I was able to get even bigger discounts on what they call “unsold discounted parking spots”.

As we all know, parking Directly at any major American airport including LAX offers the conveniences of parking right next to the terminal but you have to be willing to pay for it. Direct LAX terminal parking can cost as much as 70% more than an off-site LAX airport parking lot, if you reserve with a third party site.

The reason LAX Off-site airport parking fees are a lot cheaper because of the slightly longer distance to airport terminals but with many of these lots located around Sepulveda Blvd. and West 98th St. the distance from LAX is only but a few short minutes. To me the distance doesn't matter because all airport parking lots near LAX offer free round the clock and timely shuttle service to and from LAX.

What are some of the other benefits to booking online? Well other than the price, your able to quickly compare lots, location, long term rates, services, reviews and more. So the questions is, who has the best price? It's tough to answer because these guys change prices faster than we change underwear. What I recommend is to visit any of the “search, compare and reserve” website that allow you to compare prices of all offsite LAX parking lots of the day you wish to travel.

Airportparkingreservations.com and aboutairportparking.com are seen as the pioneers in this online “search & compare” airport parking lots industry. But if your looking for the absolute cheapest you can try Smartairportparking.com, which not only allows you to search, compare and reserve but it also has a “Name Your Price” feature similar to priceline.com.

As a frequent traveler my top priority is saving money, which is why I choose to park off site rather then parking directly at LAX. Hope this helps you save too.
