Lonavala houses some famous caves of Maharashtra. Built during 2nd and 5th century, these caves remain of the early Buddhist dynasty in India, are well-preserved. Well, the Lohagad Fort in the vicinity of Karla caves is an ideal place for trekking. Even during the monsoon, trekking here is easy. The pleasant air and the beautiful green mountains make the region a picture perfect place. Bushi Dam, Amby Valley are also popular nearby places to visit.
