Want to make reservations for a vacation to Oahu in March but keep procrastinating? DISNEY'S LION KING JR The Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center is proud to present the Hawaii premiere of Disney's Lion King Jr. . . . a school version of the Broadway hit show. The Lion King has captivated the imagination of audiences around the world and NPAC will present the schools' version of this show featuring Simba, Mufasa, Rafiki, Scar, Zazu, Pumba, Timon, and other unforgettable characters, music, costumes, and puppets. Performances on March 4, 10, 11 at 7:00 pm; March 5, 12 at 1:00 pm and 7:00 pm; March 6, 13 at 4:00 pm. All performances at the NHIS Multi-Purpose Cafe.

TEMPLE EMANU-EL KIRK CASHMIRE JEWISH FILM FESTIVAL MARCH 5-18 2016 Seven (7) Films will be shown at this annual event beginning Saturday, March 5th through Friday, March 18th. These highly acclaimed films will all be shown at the Doris Duke theatre located at the Honolulu Museum of Art. The location is approximately 10 minutes from Waikiki.

THE PIT STOP: SHOP, DINE, & DASH Tuesday March 8 2016, 5pm to 9pm at The Aloha Stadium. Food trucks, Food tents, Local crafters, Resellers, Live Entertainment & more. Come down to Aloha Stadium, 99-500 Salt Lake Blvd, Honolulu, Hawaii 96818 and enjoy an evening of shopping and dining instead of sitting in traffic.

MALU Enjoy timeless Hawaiian classics on 03/08/2016 06:00 PM – 07:00 PM accompanied by the lovely Hula 'Auana styling of Malu, an award-winning entertainment production from Honolulu. This evening's Pau Hana Jam will showcase Hula performances of the Kalakaua period, island standards and the Hollywood era. HANDBELL CHOIR The internationally-recognized Hakuoh University handbell Choir will be performing in their Goodwill Tour at Leeward CC 96-045 Ala Ike, Pearl City, Hawaii 96782 on 03/09/2016 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM. The choir will perform a range of selections from classical standards including Mozart's “Le nozze di Figaro” to contemporary hits from the musical “The Lion King.” The choir has the capacity to ring seven octaves of handbells, and their dedication to practice and performance has created worldwide demand for their music. The performance is free and open to the public.

KAWIKA TRASK & FRIENDS 03/09/2016 and 03/16/2016 06:00 PM – 07:00 PM Standard in Hawaiian trio music is the bass, guitar and ukulele, great voices, flower lei, and ti leaf skirt-clad dancers. SEAN NAAUAO on 03/10/2016 06:00 PM – 07:00 PM see Na Hoku Hanohano award winner Sean Naauao lightens up the Royal Grove with contemporary island music and heartfelt traditional Hawaiian mele. The Royal Hawaiian Center, 2201 Kalakaua Ave.The Royal Grove, Honolulu, Hawaii 96815

HEIVA I HONOLULU 2016, a great family friendly event happening March 11-12, 2016 09:00 AM – 09:00 PM at the Neil Blaisdell Arena. Hawaii's largest and best Tahitian dance competition with local, mainland and international competitors. Unique Polynesian handicrafts and food on hand make it a must for locals and visitors alike. The dancing, drumming and music set it apart from the regular stereotype Waikiki show. These groups, drummers, and soloists are competing for authenticity, poise, stage presence and endurance in Tahitian cultural arts. Tickets: Adult (11yrs+) $15 Child $10 (4-10yrs) per day.

HONOLULU FESTIVAL (22ND ANNUAL) – The only cultural festival of its kind in Hawaii, the Honolulu Festival is dedicated to celebrating the people, arts and culture of the Pacific Rim. Enjoy FREE dance performances, music, special exhibits and more, March 11-13, 2016, 01:00 PM – 08:00 PM. At the Honolulu Convention Center Under the theme, “Cultural Harmony, Journey to Peace,” the Festival also features the spectacular Waikiki Grand Parade and fabulous Nagaoka Fireworks Show over Waikiki Beach. MARCH 11 – FRIENDSHIP GALA The weekend of festivities begins with the Friendship Gala, the Honolulu Festival's only paid event, which serves as a fundraiser to support educational and cultural programs in Hawaii. The Gala showcases vibrant cultural entertainment and performances, along with a selection of entrees to enjoy from many of Hawaii's premier restaurants. MARCH 12-13 – FREE CULTURAL AND ARTS PERFORMANCES Attendees will experience cultural entertainment by performers from the Pacific Rim and Hawaii. Highlights include traditional taiko drumming, cultural dances, musical performance.
