It is one of the major attractions of the city and remains open from 8 A.M. to 5:30 P.M. all days in a week except for Tuesdays. Bliss to the nature-enthusiasts, the zoo is home to exotic animals from over 40 different countries including provincial flora and fauna. Bengal tigers, gorillas, gaur, hippos, elephants, African rhino, giraffe, etc. are the major attractions here. Inside the zoo is also the famous Karanji Lake, which, if visited in right season is perfect for bird watching as during the breeding season multiple species of migratory birds from all over the world flock to the lake.
