Being the fastest mode of transportation, air travel has become a basic need for everyone. In these modern times, the world has become a global village and within hours, a traveller can reach any destination. While in just a few clicks on the internet, anyone can book a flight ticket, a hurried decision in international flight booking could lead to a disappointing experience. Hence, the following things can be done to avoid such situations while ticket booking.

Select the Travel Class Carefully

Though travellers on short-haul flights may adjust to any class of travel, international flyers can give a little more thought while choosing the travel class at the time of booking. Most airlines have comfortable seats for all passengers; however, sitting on Economy Class, for hours, could be an exhaustive affair. If willing to pay, travellers who desire better comfort can move to Business or First Class and turn their journey into a delight. Seats in Business Class of most carriers recline to 180 degrees, running flat with the floor, providing the comfort of beds.

Not only the sitting arrangement is better in higher classes, but even the food served to passengers varies extensively. Apart from special meals, many airlines also offer complimentary drinks, including champagne, cocktails and vintage wines. It is seen that passengers often get bored during long international flights. Therefore, flyers in higher classes are usually offered overhead or seat-back screens along with laptop charging points, magazines and more.

Know the Best Time for International Flight Booking

The prices of flight tickets vary hugely depending on various factors like the time of flight booking, the carrier, or even the time of flight. The airfares are usually low if flyers book ticket 60 days prior to the departure. After that, the prices start to rise, and flyers have no other option than to pay the increased fares. For instance, the best time to book tickets for travelling around Christmas and New Year is early October. By the 15th of the month, the air ticket prices start to rise and keep on going up till the departure time.

A traveller may also choose to book the ticket late, as airlines usually drop their fares in order to fill as many seats as possible. Carriers often have flash sales just hours before an aircraft is to take-off and people who look for such offers can save big on their flight ticket.

There are many other things that need attention while international flight booking like seat selection. Some people like aisle seats while some prefer sitting next to a window. Though flyers can choose the seats they want, the availability is not ensured by anyone. To get the seat of their liking, travellers must check-in early, as, at that time, there is a better chance of getting the seat they want.

Numerous online travel agencies (OTAs) also assist people in international flight booking and provide a pleasant, hassle-free experience.
