Also famed as the Golden City of India, Jaisalmer is such an attraction of Rajasthan that no one should ever miss. If there is a whole sole identity of Rajasthan then it is because of the desert and definitely, Jaisalmer is the place where you will find it all. As the town stands on the ridge of yellow sandstone hence the golden ambience in the city justifies its nickname. Jaisalmer is the prime attraction of the state and probably one of the places which attracts the best tourist crowd. Visiting the state would be successful only and only if you will see the three places that truly define the beauty of the town. As the town lies in the heart of Thar Desert, hence it is the prime attraction of India tourism.

Jaisalmer Fort: This fort is famously known as the golden fort of Rajasthan. Being constructed in the year 1156 AD by the Rajput ruler Raja Jaisal, this is an incredibly important place of the city. Golden and yellow sandstone beautifies the glory of the fort even more and gives it a magical look as well. The fort is the perfect example of great architecture of Rajasthan.

Badda Bagh: Bada Bagh signifies huge garden. The garden was constructed under the regime of Maharawal Jait Singh in the starting of 16th century. Maharawal Jait Lunakaran Singh completed the construction of the garden after his father's death. Singh's period saw its construction, which was in the beginning of 16th century. It is a memorial where the nobles and their relatives are cremated. Witnessing the sunrise and sunset moment at the garden by camera lens is something you should never miss out here.

Patwon Ki Haveli: Being situated in the main city of Jaisalmer Patwon ki Haveli is the third major attraction of the city that you should not miss on a trip to here. The site was built by a trader named Guman Chand and his sons. It is a five storied construction which is famous for the intricate designs huge suites. Decorated walls and large corridors is something that builds up the beauty of the place even more. Yellow sandstone is used to build the entire construction.

Jaisalmer is all about camel, sand, folk culture, archeological sites and a lot of handicraft shopping. Apart from these three attractions major places that you can visit here are Sam Sand Dunes, Thar Heritage Museum, Gadisar Lake, Nathmal Ki Haveli, Jain Temples and Salim Singh ki Haveli.
