The Ingredients are as follows:
- 1 cup of basmati rice
- 2 tablespoons of oil
- 2 tablespoons of ghee
- 2 sliced onions
- 1 tomato
- 2 green chilies
- 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons of chili powder
- 1.5 tablespoons of coriander powder
- 2 teaspoons of garam masala powder
- 3 tablespoons of curd
- A pinch of salt
- 1/4 chopped coriander leaves
- 1/4 chopped mint leaves
- A dash of saffron
- 4 tablespoons of warm milk
To get those prawns marinated:
- 20 medium sized prawns
- 1 teaspoon of chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
- A pinch of salt
- 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste
Time for the preparation:
- Soak and wash the basmati rice for about 30 minutes.
- Once Drain the rice and keep it aside
- Boil water and add salt to it
- Once the water boils, add rice to it and cook for around 10 minutes
- Drain the water and keep the rice aside
- Mix the prawns along with the marination
- Heat the oil and ghee in a vessel
- Add the prawns and cook for 2 minutes using high heat
- Remove this and keep it aside
- Using the same oil, add onions, chilli and saute
- On becoming golden, remove half of the onions and keep it aside
- Using the other half, add ginger garlic paste to it and saute
- Add the spice powders and mix it well
- Soak the saffron in milk
- After this, layer the rice with fried onions, mint and coriander leaves, and saffron milk
- Cover it and cook it over a low heat for 10 minutes
- Serve it hot
