The Ingredients are as follows:

  1. 1 cup of basmati rice
  2. 2 tablespoons of oil
  3. 2 tablespoons of ghee
  4. 2 sliced onions
  5. 1 tomato
  6. 2 green chilies
  7. 1 tablespoon of ginger garlic paste
  8. 2 teaspoons of chili powder
  9. 1.5 tablespoons of coriander powder
  10. 2 teaspoons of garam masala powder
  11. 3 tablespoons of curd
  12. A pinch of salt
  13. 1/4 chopped coriander leaves
  14. 1/4 chopped mint leaves
  15. A dash of saffron
  16. 4 tablespoons of warm milk

To get those prawns marinated:

  1. 20 medium sized prawns
  2. 1 teaspoon of chili powder
  3. 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  4. A pinch of salt
  5. 1 teaspoon of ginger garlic paste

Time for the preparation:

  1. Soak and wash the basmati rice for about 30 minutes.
  2. Once Drain the rice and keep it aside
  3. Boil water and add salt to it
  4. Once the water boils, add rice to it and cook for around 10 minutes
  5. Drain the water and keep the rice aside
  6. Mix the prawns along with the marination
  7. Heat the oil and ghee in a vessel
  8. Add the prawns and cook for 2 minutes using high heat
  9. Remove this and keep it aside
  10. Using the same oil, add onions, chilli and saute
  11. On becoming golden, remove half of the onions and keep it aside
  12. Using the other half, add ginger garlic paste to it and saute
  13. Add the spice powders and mix it well
  14. Soak the saffron in milk
  15. After this, layer the rice with fried onions, mint and coriander leaves, and saffron milk
  16. Cover it and cook it over a low heat for 10 minutes
  17. Serve it hot
