Birmingham postcode area is also known as the B postcode area. It has postcodes for the boroughs of Sandwell, Solihull, Birmingham, Waisall and parts of Warwickshire, Worcestershire and Staffordshire in England.

Presently, apart from being an international commercial center, it is also a center for important transport, retail, events and conferences. It has a GDP of $90bn and has the second largest economy in the UK and the 72nd largest in the world. Birmingham has six universities and, besides London, is the largest center for higher education in the UK.

Birmingham totally has 1,073,000 residents (2011 census) and is the most populous British city apart from London. The previous decade alone saw an increase of 96,000 people. The city is situated at the heart of the West midlands.

The Metropolitan Borough of Solihull is in the West Midlands, situated in the west-central region of England. The largest town is Solihull.

Solihull allows visitors to indulge in designer-brand shopping, fine dining and touring peaceful rural villages. Major concerts and exhibitions are held here every year and these attract a number of visitors. The town is a paradise for shoppers that sports the best of cafes, bars and restaurants.

A metropolitan borough in West midlands, Sandwell has a population of around 308,100 and an area of 33 square miles (85 km2). The headquarters of Sandwell Council is situated in Oldbury, with West Bromwich being the largest town in the borough.

The Metropolitan Borough of Walsall is situated in West Midlands, England and is a local government district. It has towns such as Aldridge, Brownhills, Bloxwich, Darlaston and Willenhall. In 2007, the Borough's estimated population was 254,500.

Warwickshire is situated in West Midlands region of England. Warwick is the county town while the largest town is Nuneaton. William Shakespeare and George Eliot have their birthplace in this county and it is famous for this reason.

Worcesterchire, also abbreviated as Worcs, is a non-metropolitan county in the West Midlands of England. The cathedral city of Worcester is the biggest settlement and administrative seat of Worcesterchire.

Staffordshire county is landlocked and also present in the West Midlands region of England. Part of the National Forest is present within its borders.
