The first thing that comes to mind when one talks about Hong Kong is towering sky scrapers and busy streets. But this place has so much more to offer! It has the best outdoors in Asia, with endless activities for you to do, the most exotic cuisine to enjoy and the most happening shopping scene. It is very important to know where to go in Hong Kong if one wants to capitalize on the trip completely.

Out and about!

There are many easy ways to access the city like the MTR. It is an easy public transit system that covers the major areas of Hong Kong. It also allows you to get day passes with an unlimited travel allowance. Another easy way is the public buses. They too cover all areas but charge you by distance, so make sure you have exact change at the time of travel. Minibuses or maxicabs are good if you want to reach smaller villages or off route areas. There are red and green minibuses. The green ones have a fixed route and fixed fares whereas the red ones don't.

Ideal for family vacations!

There are countless theme parks, natural destinations, museums and food outlets for the entire family to enjoy. This holiday ensures there is something for everyone. No doubt the frequency of flights to Hong Kong internationally is always on an all time high!

One of the must visit places is the Ocean Park! It has gut wrenching rides, lots of animals, performances and an overall memorable experience no matter how wild or mellow your mood is. Some performances even let you go backstage and get up, close and personal with the animals. The dolphin show is a must see! The Hong Kong Disneyland should be something else on your must see list.

The food is important!

Some restaurants will serve you tea and snacks before your meal and will charge you for them in the bill. Therefore it is extremely important that you ask if the snacks are complimentary or not. Also, tipping is not customary in Hong Kong. It can be seen as patronizing in less expensive restaurants, but in expensive places a 10% tip is the standard. When you are done with your meal, request for the bill with a writing motion made by your hands.

You need to try Hong Kong's well known snacks, like curry fish balls, cuttle fish balls, fish meat shaomai, beef balls etc etc… Head towards Sham Shui Po and the Sai Yeung Choi Street South to not only find the best and the trendiest in fashion, but also to find a one stop shop place for all your Hong Kong list. Hong Kong has something for everyone, adventurous or mild.
