It was constructed in the year of 1026-27 AD by Bhimdev I of the Solanki dynasty. After some time, this temple was destroyed by Mehmud Ghazni. Now, this temple is managed by Archeological Survey of India. The temple complex has three parts: Sabhamandapa, the assembly hall; Gudhamandapa, the shrine hall and Kunda, the reservoir.
Somnath Temple:
The Somnath temple is situated close by the Veraval in Junagarh district. It is one of the best 12 Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. It is also well known as Prabhas Patan and Shrine eternal. According to the tradition, the original temple was believed to have been constructed by Krishna's grandson, Vajranabha in 400 B.C. It became the part of the Char Dham pilgrimage.
