Life Lessons We Can Learn From Jim Corbett Safari

Before going on my Safari in Jim Corbett, I only knew about my resort in Corbett Park, the activities to be done, what to wear and what to carry. However, I never knew that this trip would not only give me some beautiful memories, but it will also teach me some incredible life lessons. I learnt so many wonderful lessons which I am sure would guide me throughout my life:

1. Patience is the Key

Man oh man, you have to be patient and the best part is that you don't really have a choice in the matter. You have to be patient because sometimes what you want doesn't happen overnight. Sometimes what you wish takes longer to happen than you thought it would. During one of our jeep trips, we drove for a long time without seeing anything. And even though, we were sad that we did not locate a tiger, we were patient enough to enjoy the journey. Our hotel in Jim Corbett, near the river, was such a respite after we came back from our safari. The thought of being present in the moment and enjoying what you have is not a novel idea, but is often understated.

2. Listening is better than talking

This is an imperative lesson because if you are talking a mile a minute, the chances are high that you will miss something important. So, instead of talking, make sure that you listen as well. Listen to the sound of jeep or just listen to the sound of bushes. The point is when you listen; you also learn new things which otherwise you may not be able to learn.

3. Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder

After living in the metro city for years, I am very used to the fast-paced life. However, a safari reconnects me with the beauty of nature and the power of simplicity. Even though my luxury hotel in Jim Corbett was excellent with amenities, I still stepped out and sat in an open park, where I tried to count the stars and indulged in quiet conversations with the starry night. When I slowed down to appreciate every little thing, it reminded me that life is a beautiful journey.

Who knew my accommodation in Jim Corbett and my safari would end up teaching me so many brilliant life lessons? Oh, and one more thing that I learnt- always carry a raincoat and umbrella. It was the last day of our trip when it started raining heavily!
