Mussoorie, often recalled as the “Queen of Hill Stations” is a small town that spots the Garhwal region of the Uttarakhand State. The town acts as the municipal corporation of the Dehradun district. The distance between the town and Dehradun is about 35 km. Jolly Grant is the nearest airport to the city. However, as the airport is quite far and it is often inconvenient to get cabs to Mussoorie from the airport, so travelers prefer heading to the town either by road or by trains.

The city is about 290 km from the country's capital and acts as the hill resort to the locals of Delhi and nearby cities. Especially during summers, locals of these cities flock in large numbers, which in some sense is harmful to the city as there is an increase in rate of pollution and noise. An interesting fact about the town, Mussoorie was once the part of Greater Nepal. At that time it came within the Garhwal region. Today, the town still remains under the Garhwal region, but the only difference is it is now the inseparable part of India.
