Tourism is also one major attribute of the city, as there is a lot to explore-understand in Pune sightseeing. As a popular weekend getaway, the city attracts thousands of visitors (young and old alike) from all of the neighbouring states and cities; Mumbai topping the list without any issues. Other prime cities from where the locals head to Pune include – Yeravda, Bhambourda, Khadki, Dapodi, Lohogaon, and Chinchwad.

As a blazing tourist destination, the city is one of the most beautiful places in the country. With amazing ancient hills, several picturesque locations, massive rock-cut caves, and beautiful lush forests, the city is certainly the heaven on earth. If one has to define heaven, then he should visit Pune, as it will help him to give him an idea of heaven. There is actually so much to explore in the city. Some are pretty much apparent namely – Wetren Ghat, Aga Khan Palace, Rajgarh Fort, Mulsi Lake, and Lonavala; where as some are not that famous. Tribal Museum: – located to the east of Pune City Station, is the Tribal Museum, which is a unique museum that houses several interesting artifacts that relates to Sahyadri and Gondhwa territories of Maharastra. It is open between 10:00 AM and 5:00 PM. It presents some very interesting-good insight of the lives of the tribal people. It is a must see destination for those who are keen in learning the traditions, art, and cultures of several locations in the country.

Fergusson College: – it is one of the most iconic places in the city. Built in 19th century, the building is a lovely colonial structure that now serves as one of the best universities in the country. An interesting fact about the college is that it is in close association with country's politics as its founders were among the leaders who pioneered India National Congress and Indian Socialist Movement. It is located right at the heart of the city,so reaching there will not be that difficult.

Pasan Lake: – it is a man-made lake, located at the suburb of the city. It is doesn't tops the list of places to visit in Pune, but is a must visit. The lake is built by accumulating a small rivulet. It is spread across 40 sq km and is used as the source of water for the old Pashan village. Several rare migratory birds come to this place, which is the main reason for visitors coming to this lake. It also features a 300 metre footpath, aspace with the lake, offering a very beautiful view of the lake.

These were the three tourist places that every visitor to the city must visit. Besides, visiting them and the other popular places in the city, one can also take part in several activities relating things to do in Pune, such as go air gliding, horse riding, bird watching, trekking, camping, dining, and shopping.
