San Antonio is a city people can afford and has a growing economy. It also has an extremely pleasant climate, with sunshine most of the year, and a median temperature of about 70 degrees.

San Antonio has something for almost everybody, no matter if they are interested in culture, nature, history, or sports.

Historic Things in San Antonio

The Alamo – This is the site of the famous battle where Davy Crockett, Jim Bowie, and others knowingly faced overwhelming odds in their fight for independence from Mexico in 1836.

River Walk – The 5 mile walk has it all. See beautiful bridges and scenic walkways along the river. You can also visit interesting shops, restaurants, fascinating exhibits and more. There are also biking and hiking trails.

Texas Star Trail – This is a walking trail that covers over 70 historical spots. Get a map or find out more information at the San Antonio Visiting Center.

Art and Culture – If you want to listen to some great music, check out the San Antonio Symphony. You can hear all sorts of styles here, including pop, classical, modern, and more. There is also ballet and other styles of dance performed here too.

Garden Exhibits – The San Antonio Botanical Garden and Japanese Tea Garden offers lots of beautiful foliage, including beautiful trees and flowers mixed in among beautiful pathways.

King William Historic District – Spanish culture is certainly the primary influence on San Antonio. However, German culture had a big part too. In this district, you can see some German architecture, find some German food, and find out some interesting tidbits about San Antonio history.

After Dark – There is still lots to do after the sun goes down. Hear some great concerts, visit a dance club, get a drink or meal with friends, try a comedy club, or catch the game at a multitude of sports bars.

Sports

Basketball – The San Antonio Spurs have won the NBA championship four times. Watch them have another exciting season this year.

Golf – San Antonio has over 30 courses in the area, both public and private. The temperature makes it a real haven for enthusiasts of the sport, as you can play 12 months out of the year.

Outdoor Fun – If you want to have a blast outside, San Antonio has no lack of options. Go hiking, fishing, rafting, rock climbing, camping, and more.

Fun For The Whole Family

SeaWorld – Everybody will enjoy experiencing sea life up close and personal, but the dolphins are especially popular.

San Antonio Zoo – See hundreds of exhibits with all kinds of creatures from around the world.

Amusement Parks – San Antonio has places with all the roller coaster rides you could ever want. Kids are sure to love a day at Enchanted Springs Ranch or Six Flags.

Economic Outlook – San Antonio was recently listed by Forbes as one of the cities most capable of surviving a recession. Its wide range of industry and culture means a large supply jobs accompanied by businesses that are frequently expanding.

San Antonio is a fine place to visit, but an even better place to make your home.
