Ranthambore National Park
Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest parks in northern India. It is situated 130 kilometers south of Jaipur and 110 km northeast of Kota in the southern district of Rajasthan in Sawai Madhopur. Its nearest railway station and Kasba Sawai Madhopur is located 11 kilometers from here. This National Park is one of the largest wildlife reserves in North India, which was a majestic game conservation. In 1955, it was established as a wildlife sanctuary. Later, it was declared as the Ranthambore Tiger Reserve under Project Tiger and was included in the first phase of Project Tiger in 1973. Ranthambore Wildlife Sanctuary was granted National Park status in 1980. In addition to the tigers, the National Park serves as a natural habitat for various wild animals, jackals, cheetahs, hyena, swamps, crocodiles, wild pigs and various varieties of deer, besides, there are aquatic vegetation, lilies, Lotus and lotus in the park are abundant.
This wildlife sanctuary spreads over an area of 392 square kilometers which is known for tiger conservation. This is one of the best national parks in the country. For the tourists, the Wild Authority has constructed roads so that they can roam the park. Wild Authority has special arrangements for photography and videography.
Ranthambore is mainly based on tourism. During the monsoon season, the park remains closed every year. Although, the town hardly goes to sleep during the peak season. There are lots of tourists, adventurers, nature buffs, and photographers who flock from all across the nation.
This area was a popular hunting ground for the kings of Jaipur before its establishment as a park. Later it was declared a game sanctuary and subsequently in 1980 became a national park. It is one of the foremost national parks in the country.
